Our Financial Policies

Any charges incurred for treatment under Dermatology Associates care are the Patient’s responsibility.

Our practice participates in most insurance plans. If you are unsure about your insurance coverage, we recommend that you call your insurance plans’ customer service department to confirm your coverage and eligibility.

Co-pays

As a courtesy to our patients, we file insurance claims with companies that we are contracted with. Your co-pay is due at the time of service. Since we are a specialist, your insurance contract may require a higher co-pay for your appointment with our office. It is your responsibility to verify your co-payment amount prior to your visit. Please be informed of your insurance policy stipulations, as sometimes your coverage is only for a percentage of your approved services. You will be billed based on our contractual agreements with the individual insurance companies.

Deductibles

If you have a large deductible, you will be expected to pay a portion or all of it on the day of your treatment.

Referrals

Some insurance plans require a referral. It is the patient’s responsibility to obtain a referral for all of their visits. This may involve calls to your primary care or referring physician. If you do not have a referral for an office visit or procedure, you will be required to pay for your visit on the day of service, or given the option to reschedule your appointment.

No-shows and Cancellations

Dermatology Associates has a 24-hour cancellation policy. We understand that circumstances come up and sometimes appointments are forgotten and missed. The charge for a missed appointment is $75 and the charge for a missed surgical appointment is $100.

Returned Checks

If a check is returned, you will incur an additional $35 returned check fee to cover our bank expenses.

Payment Plans

A three- month, three-payment plan is available for extenuating circumstances and for account balances over $500. These contracts can be arranged through our billing department. All other balances are payable upon receipt of statements.

We ask that you keep your accounts current. Our accounts are reviewed regularly and collection determinations are made monthly.

We accept cash, personal checks, Visa, and MasterCard.
